MDF stands for MidiD'unFaune;

this name identifies the composing and performing activities in electronic music by Daniele De Santis, 

eclectic drummer and percussionist active in several bands playing improvisation and avant-jazz 

(solderwire, SAT ASAT, Accademia del Danno, Brassmati Aw!rkestra) 

as well as in collaborations within different musical contexts, sometimes at odds: 

as examples, the numerous appearances in the World Youth Chamber Orchestra,

the recent collaboration with the historical percussion group IPERTRIO (Francesco Lo Cascio, Mario Paliano, Pasquale Augello) 

the duo work with the extraordinary voice of Leila Adu. 

The varied production of MDF extends from the creation of multitimbral magmas, drones, sound ambiences constantly changing, 

to the development of complex harmonies and polyrhythmic systems involved in a living organic electronic sound, 

result of a deep and constant research work on timbre.

HORVS, first MDF work released in April 2010 by Farmacia901, is a path between some of the compositions that could better summarize 

the most experimental aspects of the project; it's a progressive transfiguration of ultra-material sounds in ethereal abstractions.

Moreover, the HORVS package is presented with an innovative graphical approach, perfectly fused with the musical contents in a dense symbolic plan. 

In October 2010 is planned the release of an LP by Minus Habens Records; it will present a series of new MDF tracks 

mostly oriented to the abstract beat; the Lp will also include some vocal presences of Leila Adu. An anticipation of this work 

was included in the URB ALT Sampler Tres Compilation, made available from the community "Urban Alternative" in free digital download

(http://urbalt.bandcamp.com/album/urb-alt-sampler-tres).
